SYLYSIA FCP is a high purity and porous amorphous silica-gel presentation used in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, personal care and cosmetic industries. The amorphous structure of the silica-gel is safely handled and non-carcinogenic. The high purity of the SYLYSIA FCP, no less than 99.7% silicon dioxide, is chemically inert, odorless and tasteless. It has been deemed safe by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare and is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) under the U.S. FDA regulations for direct and indirect contact.
Drying, Free Flow and Anti-Caking

The silica particles aid in the full and complete release from molds by minimizing sticking. The high moisture capacity can provide longer shelf life for your products as well as providing a wicking action when your tablet is dispersed in water. In both wet and dry granulation processes, the addition of SYLYSIA FCP silica-gel speeds up screening and improves flow to compression.
The high porosity, absorptive properties and the 1.46 refractive index make SYLYSIA FCP silica-gel very effective at creating clear gels and thickening liquids. This viscosity improvement aids in suspension of active ingredients. The control of viscosity is critical to the proper feel of a fluid food. If a sauce is too thin it will pass over the food and not remain to impart flavor. The use of silica for thickening provides excellent viscosity control without affecting the food’s flavor.

The high porosity of SYLYSIA FCP silica-gel enables it to absorb nearly three times its weight in liquids. Liquid ingredients can be made into powders for integration into any desired application.
SYLYSIA FCP is helpful in keeping capsules from sticking together. By impregnating the surface of a gelatin capsule with silica-gel, the contact area between capsules is reduced, aiding in tablet release from a mold or press.
